Inspired by people and what they do, Neighbour Magazine is a print and digital magazine published twice a year that encourages sustainable living with a focus on Luxembourg and the Greater Region and a view on the world. From Issue 3 onwards we publish in both French and English.

Slow living, sustainability, circular economy, regenerative practices: we want to tell the stories of the people around us who are making and doing, creating places, spaces, products and ideas that make our world a better place.

About Neighbour Magazine

The concept

Luxembourg and the regions that surround it are full of inspiring and sustainable initiatives, but many times they can be quite 'hidden' due to language barriers, little marketing, or because the only indication is a hand-painted sign in front of a house.

With the growing interest in living more mindfully and sustainably, we wanted to give readers the opportunity to discover these projects in English in a beautiful and in-depth way to not only learn from and feel inspired by them but also be able to apply them to their own lives. That could mean simply learning where to find free-range eggs in their neighbourhood or being able to deepen their connection to nature through a newly discovered hobby.

Each quarterly edition will feature a range of stories, with in-depth storytelling to allow readers to not only learn about new concepts and projects but also gain an understanding of the history, motivation and passion of the people behind them. Equal space will be dedicated to beautiful photography that will tell more of the story behind each piece, put together with a minimal design.

Our commitment

A key aspect of our project is our aim to shine the spotlight on deserving initiatives and individuals for the benefit of all, and we will never ask these projects to pay anything to be featured in the magazine. Instead, our funding will come primarily from our readers, whether through sales of individual print editions or digital and print subscriptions. Another source of funding may eventually be project grants and/or sponsorship from like-minded organizations.

It is important for us to begin as we intend to continue, which means valuing our contributors and paying them fairly, printing on paper with the least environmental impact, and choosing to work with suppliers who are as local and environmentally-responsible as possible.
